Go Eagles!!!! Black and Gold!

This is the last week of summer vacation here and today was meet the teacher day at the schools. Ryan and I went to his school and met all his teachers. Fourth grade is going to be switching classes for all their classes so he will have five teachers plus art, music, and PE teachers. He has all his supplies and new clothes so he is ready. He is also excited about switching classes this year and seeing all his friends.

Once more I will be subbing in the schools and to get ready for the new school year I am sporting a new look. Woodville’s school mascot is the eagle and colors are black and gold. So I had to do something to show my school spirit. I don’t like dark colors most the time, but I do have some including a black polish that I bought this summer. So Go Eagles!!! I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as a base coat, Then I used one coat of Black Lingerie by Revlon, one thin coat of Going for Gold by The Color Institute , and finally a top coat of No Chip Acrylic Top Coat by Sally Hansen. The gold is just a light dusting of gold on the black and I really think it came out very nice and shows lots of school spirit. Go Eagles!!!

Now for pictures. It was cloudy and overcast so I wasn’t able to get any in the sun today.

Have a Great Weekend!!!

Snowman in August

I was trying to decide which nail polish to use next, and came up with a lovely glitter. Snowman of My Dreams is a multi colored glitter from the Nicole collection by OPI. It is also a Holiday Polish so I guess I am continuing the theme from my daughters post last Friday, This is Halloween! Zoya Arizona. I chose it because it’s such a cool polish for such a hot time of the year. It has silver, blue, pink, yellow, green, and orange glitter that I can see (see micro shots).

I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as my base coat, two coats of Snowman of My Dreams, and Double Duty by Sally Hansen as a top coat. If you wanted you could use a solid color under the glitter and have a nice sparkly look.

Melanie by Julep

This another one of Julep’s August colors. Melanie is a pastel indigo metallic chrome polish. I love the way this looks in different lights. It’s like a light denim blue. This was easy to use and went on without any problems. I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as a base coat, two layers of Melanie by Julep, and Double Duty by Sally Hansen as a top coat.

Alfre by Julep

Today I am sharing one of Julep’s August polishes, Alfre. I received my August box last week and couldn’t wait to use one. Alfre is a fun purple metallic polish. It is easy to use and applied in two coats. It is a fast drying polish. Now for the details, I used Nail Envy by OPI as a base coat, two coats of Alfre by Julep, and a top coat of Double Duty by Sally Hansen. I want to remind everyone that Julep has an introduction box that you can get for $1 with this code COLOR2012.

Have a great and colorful day!!

Salt and Pepper

Monday afternoon, my father called to tell me that there were two male puppies under his workshop. Ryan and I went out and tried to get them to come out. We had to use hot dogs to tempt them out. They are cute and sweet and very healthy, so we thought they had to belong to someone.

The next day, when DJ and Ryan asked around we found out that they had been dumped along with the mama dog and another puppy. Now for a little soapbox time – I don’t know how anyone can just throw away animals like that, especially helpless puppies. Why can’t they find someone who will take them or take them to a shelter!!! (and back off the soapbox) We still don’t know where the other two are, but two little male puppies now have a new home.

Ryan named them Salt and Pepper. Not my choice but he likes the names so what can I say. As I am typing this they are both asleep at my feet and very happy. I took some pictures and am posting them for all to see.
