Alfre by Julep

Today I am sharing one of Julep’s August polishes, Alfre. I received my August box last week and couldn’t wait to use one. Alfre is a fun purple metallic polish. It is easy to use and applied in two coats. It is a fast drying polish. Now for the details, I used Nail Envy by OPI as a base coat, two coats of Alfre by Julep, and a top coat of Double Duty by Sally Hansen. I want to remind everyone that Julep has an introduction box that you can get for $1 with this code COLOR2012.

Salt and Pepper

Monday afternoon, my father called to tell me that there were two male puppies under his workshop. Ryan and I went out and tried to get them to come out. We had to use hot dogs to tempt them out. They are cute and sweet and very healthy, so we thought they had to belong to someone.

The next day, when DJ and Ryan asked around we found out that they had been dumped along with the mama dog and another puppy. Now for a little soapbox time – I don’t know how anyone can just throw away animals like that, especially helpless puppies. Why can’t they find someone who will take them or take them to a shelter!!! (and back off the soapbox) We still don’t know where the other two are, but two little male puppies now have a new home.

Ryan named them Salt and Pepper. Not my choice but he likes the names so what can I say. As I am typing this they are both asleep at my feet and very happy. I took some pictures and am posting them for all to see.

Going for Gold

I love to watch the Olympics. I root for the USA, but always cheer for great performances by all the athletes. I love to watch all the different sports events that don’t get the attention any other time. I believe that just making it to the Olympics makes them champions, so I am saluting all the athletes with this polish, Going for Gold by the Color Institute. This is a sheer gold micro glitter that could be used over other colors to dust them with gold.

Now for the details: I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI for my base coat, three coats of Going for Gold to get the coverage I wanted, and Double Duty by Sally Hansen as a top coat. I took several pictures including a micro shot to show the detail of the polish.

Tuscan Sun

I may not be able to go to Italy, but I can wear the Tuscan Sun on my nails. It’s like having a little touch of Italy with me to spice up my life. Now for the details: one coat of Nail Envy by OPI as a base coat, one coat of Tuscan Sun by Revlon, and one coat of double Duty by sally Hansen as a top coat. This polish was easy to use and covered in one coat.

Glow

Had the day off yesterday and thought it would be a good time to change my nail polish. I decided to go with one of my new ones that I got Friday at Ross. Its a sheer pink polish by Sally Hansen called Glow. I took the old one off and settled in to begin the new color. I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as my base coat. Then I used Glow by Sally Hansen. As I said this is a sheer polish so I used two coats for better coverage. Finally I used Double Duty by Sally Hansen as a top coat. I like this soft color. Sometimes that’s all you need to make a quiet statement.
