Palm Trees and Treasure

A couple of Fridays ago my daughter, Mary, and I had a girls night out. We had dinner went shopping and saw a movie. Dinner was nice at Ihop and we enjoyed getting to have some quiet time just the two of us and no men. Then we went shopping at Ross and Sally Beauty Supply. I found nail polish on sale at both places. Sales are always good. I bought some L.A. Colors at Ross and some Orly at Sally. Today’s post is about two of the L.A. Colors polishes. We finished the night with Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters. Over all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing evening.

As I said, today I will be posting about two of the L.A. Color polishes. I used a solid and a matching glitter. I think I figured out the names of the two colors by going to the website and comparing the pictures. I do wish they would put the color names on the bottles. I don’t know about others, but I would be willing to pay a little more to know the names are right. The solid color is Palm Trees, and the glitter is Treasure Island. They were easy to use and have lasted a week and several days. The pictures were taken after a week of wear. I used L.A. Color top coat to finish the look.

Pink Glitter Tips

After Christmas, I hit the clearance sales and bought some of the polish gift sets at half price. I was playing around with some of these polishes to see what I could come up with the other day. I sent a picture to my daughter of what I did and she said that I had to blog it so here I am. We also had a break today from all the rain and sun came out so I took advantage and got my camera out and took pictures on the nails.
Today, I have a fun glamorous look for a very small price. I used two of the polishes that came in one of the sets to create this look. The polishes are from The Color Workshop by MarkWins International. I used a creamy pink for the nail color. It was easy to use and went on smooth and even. Then I carefully painted the tips with a matching pink glitter. It was easy to use and took just two coats to get the look I wanted. I used a topcoat by LA COLORS to finish it off. The pink by itself was a pretty color, but the glitter tips just gave it a touch of sparkle that set it apart.

Jade

I know it’s been awhile since my last post, but a lot has happened. First my computer was acting up so I took it to get repaired, unfortunately it was beyond fixing. I thought I would have to wait to get a new one when my husband won $500 on a scratch off lottery ticket. He called to tell me to come and pick out the computer that I wanted. So now I have a new laptop and am still in the process of installing my programs on the new computer. I also am having problems with my nails splitting and peeling and have not been able to take any pictures of my polishes either. However I do have one that I did before my old computer died and since I had all my pictures saved on my external hard drive I am going to post about it.

The polish I used is one I bought at Ross, Jade a metallic by JLB Cosmetics. I found it easy to use and I like the color. I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as a base coat, two coats of Jade by JLB Cosmetics, and a top coat of Double Duty by Sally Hansen. It wore well and I received many complements while wearing it.

Electric Pink Sparkle

Sometimes you just want a bright fun look. This is a layered bright sparkly look. It was easy to create and fun to wear. I used Nail Envy Matt by OPI as a base coat. Electric Pink by Revlon is the main color. I used one coat and took pictures of just that layer. Even without a top coat it was shiny dry. To get the sparkle I used a pink glitter by Cosmetic Arts. I finished the look with a top coat of Double Duty by Sally Hansen. I took a lot of pictures so you could see both with and without the glitter. This was fun to wear and I had several people tell me they liked it.

Amethyst Ablaze by Maybelline

Here it is Friday evening, and I’m off both jobs today. I decided to take time today for me and just took it easy. My husband is at work and my son is in the back watching a DVD. Awww, me time!!! So as I am posting I am also watching TLC and redoing my nails. Today’s post is about a mani from last week. It’s a metallic purple from Maybeline called Amethyst Ablaze. This is much a prettier polish on then it shows in the bottle, and I received many complements while wearing it. I used a base coat of Nail Envy Matt by OPI, two layers of Amethyst Abaze by Maybelline, and a top coat of Double Duty by Sally Hansen. I took several pictures so you could see how it came out.
